The streaming giant is introducing a new feature to its messaging interface that allows you to share exactly what you’re listening to with friends and family in real time. 🎶
Once enabled, your listening activity appears prominently at the top of the chat window. ✨ The person on the other end can simply tap that bar to play the track themselves, save it to their library, or respond with a quick emoji. 😉 Of course, this also opens the floor for conversation, giving users the chance to either applaud the song choice 👏 or poke fun at a questionable guilty pleasure. 🙊

Spotify’s messaging system is getting another functional boost, too. 🚀 Users can now invite chat partners directly into a Jam—the app’s collaborative listening feature. 🎧 Premium subscribers will see a “Jam” button in the top right corner that instantly sends an invite, allowing two people to build a shared queue and listen simultaneously. 👯♂️ While free users are welcome to join these sessions, they cannot initiate them. 💎
For now, the messaging platform remains a strictly one-on-one experience. 👤 Since group chats aren’t supported, you won’t be able to monitor multiple friends’ listening habits at the same time. These updates are currently rolling out gradually on iOS and Android, though it may take a few weeks before they are available to everyone. 🌎
