Sports fans 🏟️ on Peacock 🦚 are about to get a major audiovisual upgrade 📺✨. While Sunday Night Football 🏈 is currently the only live sports offering featuring Dolby Atmos 🔊, that list is about to grow significantly 📈. During CES 💻, Dolby Laboratories announced that Peacock will be rolling out Dolby Vision 👁️ and Atmos support across a wider range of live sporting events 🏅 throughout the year. This expansion includes full support for Sunday Night Football 🏈 as well as upcoming NBA 🏀 and MLB ⚾ coverage available to subscribers 🎟️.

David Bohunek 👤, Senior Vice President of Global Video Engineering at NBCUniversal, highlighted the importance of this fidelity ✨. “Our partnership with Dolby ensures that whether our subscribers are streaming a thrilling playoff game 🏆, the latest Universal blockbuster 🎬, or a critically acclaimed Peacock Original 🌟, they’re experiencing it exactly as creators intended — with breathtaking picture 🖼️ and immersive sound 🔊 that brings every moment to life,” Bohunek stated.

Beyond current standards 📏, the companies revealed that Peacock will begin supporting Dolby Vision 2 👁️⚡ and Dolby AC-4 🔊 later this year. Hailed as a “groundbreaking evolution” 🚀 when Dolby introduced it at IFA 2025, Vision 2 is engineered for modern displays 🖥️, utilizing AI 🤖 to automatically calibrate the picture based on both the content and your viewing environment 🏠. On the audio front, the service is adopting AC-4 🎧, a new format that Dolby claims will deliver the highest possible audio quality 🎶 “at a much lower bandwidth than other formats.” 📶
