These themed overlays offer a unique way to commemorate the season, but they won’t be around forever ⏳. Currently, these features are region-exclusive and available only on devices running the latest HyperOS 3 build in China 📍🇨🇳. The designs lean heavily into traditional Chinese New Year symbolism, aiming to give your snapshots an auspicious touch 🧧. Users can select from three distinct options:
🔴 Red Koi Fish: A vivid red koi motif with its tail elegantly arched in motion, representing luck, perseverance, and prosperity 🐟🌊.
🦁 Traditional Lion Dance: A stylized figure of the lion dance that reflects classic folk customs, embodying celebration and joyful energy 🥁💃.
🐎 Horse + Ruyi Pattern: A horse motif intertwined with the auspicious Ruyi pattern, symbolizing good fortune and balance 🍀✨.
These designs offer more than just static overlays 🖼️. According to Xiaomi’s camera product manager, the watermarks can be customized and tweaked within the camera settings to better suit your specific shots and personal aesthetic 🛠️🎨. The collection is available from February 10 through March 9 📅. Note that these Chinese New Year watermarks are specific to domestic devices and are not currently available on global HyperOS builds 🌏📵.
