Oppo is gearing up to unveil its highly anticipated Reno 16 series in China on May 25 . As the launch date draws near, the tech giant is steadily dropping hints about the upcoming smartphones . Earlier today, a newly released promotional poster gave us our first official look at the lineup’s impressive rear camera specifications .

Oppo Reno 16 series camera specs confirmed

According to the teaser, both the standard Reno 16 and the premium Reno 16 Pro will boast a formidable camera array anchored by a massive 200-megapixel primary sensor . Rounding out this high-end setup is a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens , a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera , and a smart LED flash unit designed to enhance low-light photography .

While the megapixel counts match perfectly on paper , a closer look at the poster’s fine print reveals that the actual camera hardware may differ slightly between the two models . Industry speculation suggests these sensors could closely mirror the technology previously seen in the Reno 15 and Reno 15 Pro .

Beyond the cameras, current leaks indicate the standard Reno 16 will sport a vibrant 6.32-inch OLED display featuring a crisp 1.5K resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate . Under the hood, it is expected to run on the Dimensity 8550 chipset , drawing power from a substantial 6,700mAh battery equipped with 80W fast charging .

For those seeking a larger screen , the Reno 16 Pro steps up with a 6.78-inch OLED panel, maintaining the same 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate . This Pro variant will likely be powered by the more robust Dimensity 9500s processor and house a massive 7,000mAh battery . Notably, it adds 50W wireless charging to its 80W wired charging capabilities .

When it comes to memory and storage , both models will offer configurations of 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, and 16GB+512GB. Buyers can choose from shared colorways like Heartbeat Star (white) and Midnight Black . The standard Reno 16 is expected to offer a bit more variety with additional 16GB+256GB and 16GB+1TB tiers, plus an exclusive Galaxy Purple finish . Meanwhile, the Reno 16 Pro will feature its own exclusive shade, Dream Blue . Adding a fun touch to the user experience, both handsets will support the Oppo Bubble, a dedicated selfie mirror accessory .

International fans won’t have to wait too long, either . The Reno 16 series has already begun clearing regulatory certifications in several global markets , pointing toward a broader international rollout sometime between June and July .
