TEMPT has officially launched its latest portable cooling solution, the ICY, in India. Priced at an affordable Rs. 1,990 (around $21), this innovative handheld device sets itself apart by pairing traditional fan blades with an integrated thermoelectric cooling plate. While conventional handheld fans merely push warm air around—offering little relief during intense summer heat—the ICY introduces a smarter approach. By embedding a semiconductor cooling plate directly into the center of the fan head, the device delivers active cooling. Once you activate the “chiller” mode, the plate’s temperature plummets to a refreshing 18°C in just a matter of seconds.

This allows users to press the chilled surface directly against their skin—such as the neck or wrists—for instant, targeted relief. The device leverages the same thermoelectric technology found in high-end wearable neck conditioners to actively pull heat away from the body.

Powering the airflow behind the cooling plate is a high-performance brushless motor capable of spinning the blades at an impressive 14,000 RPM. Despite this power, TEMPT claims the fan operates at an ultra-quiet sub-20 decibel level. Equipped with a robust 4,000mAh lithium battery, the ICY offers flexible endurance depending on your cooling needs. Running the fan solo on its lowest setting delivers up to 12 hours of continuous breeze. Even with the active cooling plate switched on alongside a low fan speed, the device still manages an impressive 10 hours of runtime.

Users can choose from four distinct speed settings, which yield approximate runtimes of 12, 9, 6, or 3 hours as the intensity increases. When the battery runs low, it can be quickly topped up via a standard USB-C port. A full charge takes only about 90 minutes and can be conveniently powered by a laptop, power bank, or standard wall charger.

In terms of design, the fan is highly portable at just six inches long, boasting a lightweight chassis with a premium matte finish. TEMPT has opted for a clean, minimalist interface, utilizing a single multi-function button to power the device, cycle through speeds, and toggle the cooling plate. Positioned just above this button is a sleek LED display that provides real-time updates on battery percentage, active speed level, and cooling status.
