The XREAL 1S arrives as the worldโs first AR glasses featuring automatic 2D-to-3D video conversion
# XREAL 1S
XREAL is closing out 2025 by expanding its lineup with the XREAL 1S, a new entry-level model . Positioning itself just below the premium XREAL One Pro announced back in July, this device claims a unique title: it is the first in its category to provide automatic 2D-to-3D conversion .
Weighing in at a lightweight 82 grams , the headset utilizes dual 0.68-inch Sony OLED microdisplays. These panels deliver a crisp resolution of 1920ร1200 per eye and support a fluid refresh rate of up to 120Hz .
Engaging the signature 2D-to-3D mode does come with a trade-off, dropping the refresh rate to 30Hz . However, the glasses aim to maintain a stable visual experience with a 52-degree field of view, brightness peaking at 700 nits , and high color fidelity rated at ฮE < 3 .
Powering these capabilities is XREALโs proprietary X1 spatial computing chip . The company claims this silicon keeps latency down to just 3msโa critical factor for the 1Sโs 3DoF head tracking, ensuring the virtual screen remains firmly anchored in place even as you look around .
According to XREAL product manager Takao Takayama , this new 3D conversion technology wonโt remain exclusive to the 1S; it is scheduled to arrive on the existing XREAL One and One Pro models via a software update near the 1S release window .
The hardware also includes several quality-of-life refinements . The audio system is tuned by Bose , accompanied by a four-microphone array . Visually, the lenses offer variable light transmittance, automatically shifting between 0%, 35%, and 100% depending on the desired level of immersion . The 1S is available in a single colorway: Silent Blue .
XREAL Neo
Debuting alongside the headset is the XREAL Neo, a dedicated mobile battery pack designed specifically for AR workflows . Priced at 14,580 yen, it is set to hit shelves in late January .
