Ugreen launches compact 2-bay and 4-bay NAS with proprietary UGOS Pro

Ugreen has officially expanded its storage lineup with the launch of the NASync DXP GT series, featuring two high-performance models: the DXP2800 GT and the DXP4800 GT.

Drawing inspiration from the “Grand Touring” philosophy, Ugreen designed this series to prioritize speed, endurance, and sustained performance—much like the high-performance vehicles that share the GT moniker.

Under the hood, both models are driven by the AMD Ryzen Embedded R2514 processor. Featuring 4 cores, 8 threads, and a boost frequency of up to 3.7GHz, this hardware delivers a reported 26% performance boost over previous DXP iterations.

Out of the box, both devices come equipped with 8GB of DDR4 RAM, which can be expanded up to 64GB, alongside 64GB of eMMC storage dedicated to the operating system. Both units run on UGOS Pro, Ugreen’s refined, proprietary NAS operating system.

Key Differences: DXP2800 GT vs. DXP4800 GT

The primary distinction between the two lies in their storage capacity and networking capabilities. The DXP2800 GT serves as an efficient entry-level solution, featuring two SATA HDD bays and two M.2 NVMe SSD slots, providing support for up to 80TB of total storage.

For connectivity, it includes a single 10GbE RJ45 port, a front-facing 10Gbps USB-C port, a 10Gbps USB-A port, additional rear USB-A ports, and an HDMI 2.1 output for direct display.

UGREEN NASync DXP2800 GT Features

The DXP4800 GT steps things up as a 4-bay powerhouse capable of supporting up to 144TB of total storage, utilizing four SATA HDD bays and two M.2 NVMe SSD slots.

The most significant upgrade is found in its networking suite: the DXP4800 GT features dual 10GbE ports that support link aggregation for speeds up to 20Gbps. This makes it a robust choice for demanding tasks, such as 4K/8K video editing or running multiple virtual machines.

The DXP4800 GT also adds a front-facing SD 3.0 card reader and offers more versatile RAID configurations, including JBOD, RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, and 10.

UGREEN NASync DXP4800 GT Features

Both models leverage UGOS Pro to provide a comprehensive software ecosystem, including Docker support, virtual machine management, AI-driven photo organization, and a centralized surveillance hub. Users can also take advantage of Ugreenlink, a remote access service that allows for secure, seamless file access from anywhere without the need for complex public IP configuration.

The hardware aesthetic is consistent across both models, featuring a sleek, space-gray aluminum chassis with elegant gold accents. Practical design touches include a rear magnetic dust filter and a quiet hydraulic fan, ensuring noise levels remain between 29 and 34 dB for unobtrusive 24/7 operation.
