Xiaomi has just unveiled its latest portable audio companion, the Bluetooth Speaker C
Xiaomi is adding a new contender to its portable audio lineup: the Bluetooth Speaker C. Debuting in China for 269 yuan (about $40), the speaker is set to hit shelves on May 31. If you’re outside of China, keep an eye out for the “Xiaomi Sound Play” name, as that’s likely how this device will be branded for the global market.
Physically, it’s built for portability, measuring roughly 63 x 70 x 201mm and weighing in at 415g. It’s small enough to toss in a bag but packs a decent punch with an 18W full-range driver. To flesh out the sound, Xiaomi tucked dual passive radiators into the internal and external structure, allowing for a frequency response of 75Hz to 20kHz. For the spec-conscious, it maintains a signal-to-noise ratio of at least 95dB, which should mean relatively clean audio even when you crank it up.

The connectivity is where things get interesting. It runs on Bluetooth 6.0, which cuts down on latency and keeps a stable connection up to 25 meters away. More importantly, it supports Auracast. While you can still do a standard TWS (True Wireless Stereo) setup with two units for a traditional left-right channel experience, Auracast lets you link up to 100 compatible devices. It’s a “party mode” on steroids, syncing both the audio and the lighting across every speaker in the chain.

Speaking of lighting, the design features a “time tunnel” 3D LED ring at the base. You can set the lights to stay constant, ripple, or pulse in sync with the beat. The aesthetic is rugged but modern—mostly black with sharp orange accents and a soft silicone strap for carrying. It’s also built to survive the elements; an IP68 rating means it’s completely dust-tight and can handle a dunk in the water without dying.
As for battery life, the 2600mAh cell is rated for up to 14 hours. Just keep in mind that those are “ideal condition” numbers—you’ll need to keep the volume at 40% and the LED lights off to actually hit that mark.

Xiaomi’s been on a bit of a hardware tear lately. Along with this speaker, they’ve recently rolled out a massive 13kg washer-dryer integrated with HyperOS and an AI-driven split air conditioner that claims to start cooling a room in just 15 seconds.
