Samsung’s web browser ๐ arrives on Windows ๐ช, with an AI future on its radar ๐ก
Samsung’s web browser ๐ arrives on Windows ๐ช, with an AI future on its radar ๐ก On Thursday ๐ , Samsung launched a desktop version of its web browser. Why bother putting its mobile browser ๐ฑ on Windows? Well, the company offers a hint in describing Samsung Internet as “evolving from a PC browser that waits for input to an integrated AI platform ๐ง .” So, surprise, surprise ๐ฒ: It’s about AI ๐ค.
As one would imagine, Samsung Internet on Windows supports cross-platform syncing ๐ of data like bookmarks ๐, browsing history ๐ and autofill โ๏ธ. The company says it also prioritizes privacy and security ๐ก๏ธ, offering standard features like tracker blocking ๐ซ and a privacy dashboard ๐.
But those aren’t likely the main reasons Samsung is launching a desktop web browser in 2025 ๐๏ธ. (Incidentally, Samsung briefly launched Samsung Internet for Windows in 2024, before pulling it from the Microsoft Store ๐ without fanfare.) Instead, this launch appears to be about positioning it in the rapidly emerging landscape of AI browsers ๐ค.
AI browsers have been all the rage lately ๐ฅ. Samsung’s move follows the launch of OpenAI’s ChatGPT Atlas ๐ฌ, Microsoft’s Edge Copilot Mode updates ๐งญ, Opera Neon’s early access ๐ญ and general availability for Perplexity’s Comet browser โ๏ธ. Samsung says its cross-platform browser will advance its “vision for ambient AI ๐๏ธ,” anticipating your needs and offering more personalized assistance ๐ค. If Samsung wants to be part of that fray, it makes sense for its software to be available on the desktop, too ๐ป.

Samsung is testing One UI 9 for these Galaxy devices ๐งช
Although the One UI 9 beta program is currently exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series, Samsung is already hard at work testing the Android 17-based build across a broader range of hardware, including several mid-range models. ๐ ๏ธ This internal testing suggests that the company may be preparing to open the beta program to a wider audience of Galaxy users very soon. ๐
We have spotted the following Galaxy devices running internal One UI 9.0 test firmware on Samsungโs servers: ๐
๐ฑ Galaxy S25
๐ฑ Galaxy S25+
๐ฑ Galaxy S25 Ultra
๐ฑ Galaxy A57
๐ฑ Galaxy A34
๐ฑ Galaxy A17 5G
๐ฑ Galaxy Z Fold 8 (unreleased)
๐ฑ Galaxy Z Flip 8 (unreleased)
๐ฑ Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra (unreleased)
๐ฑ Galaxy Z Fold 7
While these sightings don’t confirm an immediate release date for these specific models, they strongly indicate that Samsung is actively preparing to expand the beta program. ๐ We will be sure to keep you updated as soon as more devices are added to the list. ๐
Currently, the One UI 9 beta is limited to the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. ๐ Samsung has yet to make an official announcement regarding an expansion, but based on previous release cycles, it is highly likely that more devices will be invited to join the testing phase in the coming weeks. ๐
The stable version of One UI 9, powered by Android 17, is expected to launch alongside the next generation of foldables: the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. ๐๏ธ Current rumors point to an official unveiling of these devices on July 22. ๐๏ธ

No Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide ๐ซ: Samsung Reportedly Planning the Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra ๐ฑโจ
Samsung is finally killing the most confusing part of the Galaxy Z Fold 8. ๐ซ Forget the “Wide” rumorsโthe “Ultra” era is officially here. ๐ฑโจ
Samsung appears to be rethinking the naming convention for its upcoming foldables ๐ฑ, opting for simplicity over clutter โจ. According to a recent leak from reliable tipster Ice Universe ๐ง, the tech giant is abandoning the convoluted โWideโ and โLargeโ monikers ๐ซ that had dominated recent rumors surrounding the Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup.

Rather than introducing the unwieldy Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide, Samsung will reportedly launch the device simply as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 ๐. Meanwhile, the premium tier of the lineup is expected to make its debut as the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra ๐.
ย
If this leak holds true, it represents a welcome pivot toward a much cleaner, more digestible product lineup ๐งผ. Over the past few months, clunky names like โZ Fold 8 Wideโ and โGalaxy Z Wide Foldโ have circulated across the rumor mill ๐ฃ๏ธ, drawing criticism from consumers who found the branding awkward and needlessly complex ๐.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra ๐
Positioned as the top-tier offering, the rumored Ultra model is slated to deliver several notable hardware advantages over the standard Fold 8 ๐. Current reports indicate it will pack a robust 5000mAh battery ๐ and a sophisticated triple-camera array ๐ธ, complete with a dedicated telephoto lens ๐ญ. In contrast, the standard Fold 8 will likely feature a slightly smaller 4800mAh battery and a more modest dual-camera system ๐ท.
ย
Under the hood, both devices are expected to be powered by Qualcommโs formidable Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset ๐๏ธโก. Buyers can also look forward to refined foldable displays across the board ๐, though the standard model may sport a more compact aspect ratio compared to its Ultra counterpart ๐.
ย
Industry watchers anticipate that Samsung will officially unveil these next-generation foldables at its traditional summer Galaxy Unpacked event in July 2026 ๐๏ธโ๏ธ. While recent speculation suggests London could play host to the launch ๐ฌ๐ง, Samsung has yet to officially confirm the venue or the exact date ๐.
ย
Streamlining the product names is a highly strategic move ๐ฏ, particularly as the foldable market grows increasingly competitive ๐. Over the past year, Chinese manufacturers have aggressively elevated their own foldable offerings ๐จ๐ณ, all while the specter of Appleโs long-rumored entry into the space continues to loom large ๐๐.

With leaked display sizes fueling the rumors, the Galaxy S27 Pro is widely expected to debut as a highly capable, smaller version of the S27 Ultra. ๐
Samsungโs future Galaxy S lineup is poised for a significant shake-up ๐ช๏ธ with the rumored introduction of the Galaxy S27 Pro. ๐ฑ Multiple reports indicate that the tech giant plans to expand beyond its traditional three-device roster, introducing a new model that packs uncompromising, flagship-grade hardware into a more pocket-friendly form factor. ๐ค
The Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to effectively bridge the gap between the Plus and the Ultra models. ๐
While much of the current spotlight remains on the upcoming Galaxy S26 series, industry sourcesโincluding the Korean publication ETNews ๐ฐโare already looking ahead, suggesting that the S27 Pro will sport a 6.47-inch OLED display. ๐บ This footprint would strategically position the device right between the standard Galaxy S27 and the larger S27+, specifically targeting consumers who crave elite specifications โจ but prefer to avoid carrying an oversized handset. ๐
Under the hood, the Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to inherit the core DNA of the top-tier Galaxy S27 Ultra. ๐งฌ Rumored specifications point to a next-generation Snapdragon processor ๐ง , Samsungโs innovative Privacy Display technology ๐ก๏ธ, and a formidable camera array. ๐ธ Photography enthusiasts can reportedly look forward to a 200-megapixel primary sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera equipped with 5x optical zoom. ๐ญ
To maintain its sleek and compact profile, reports suggest Samsung will likely omit the S Pen from the S27 Pro’s design. โ๏ธ๐ซ Consequently, the Galaxy S27 Ultra would remain the exclusive choice within the lineup for users seeking stylus support and dedicated productivity features. ๐ผ
This strategic shift aligns perfectly with current trends in the premium smartphone market ๐, where leading brands increasingly offer their highest-end hardware across multiple screen sizes. With Apple and Google already providing Pro-level devices in relatively compact footprints, Samsung appears ready to adopt a similar playbook for its Galaxy user base. ๐ค
Furthermore, the Galaxy S27 Pro is anticipated to replace Samsungโs recent “Edge” experimentโa slim-design initiative that reportedly struggled to capture strong market demand. ๐ While crucial details like pricing and battery capacity are still under wraps ๐คซ๐, the S27 Pro is already shaping up to be an appealing option for buyers seeking a compact daily driver without major hardware compromises. ๐
